A Quality Boating Lifestyle
I began my boat-building career over 35 years ago building traditional wooden boats for predominately New Zealand clients and served a full apprenticeship with one of New Zealand's leading Boat Building yards. On completion of my apprenticeship I built my first yacht, a 30ft John Spencer design, which is still in excellent condition and sailing New Zealand waters, serving her current owners with many hours of pleasure.
Allan Tongs Boat Building Yard has predominately been employed, in recent times, in building high quality custom one-off motor yachts for both local and overseas clients.

We are currently building an ELITE 55ft cruiser ,designed by Bill Upfold named HIGHLANDER, for a very experienced owner who is wanting to enjoy the New Zealand cruising waters in comfort.
HIGHLANDER features a huge double master stateroom and a bunk room for the grand children. We will be launching HIGHLANDER in October 2008 and bring you more photos, or click here to see her in the boat yard.
